I personally use https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/convert-forms/ for contact forms, but not in the context you're talking about. It may have the capability to allow you to populate a field with the page URL.

Thanks, this indeed does perfectly what I need. I can even add a hidden field with the URL, and pre-populate the name and e-mail if the user is logged in. More than what I could wish for in a free version!
